And after all this time, where have I been?
Picking wonderments off these eyeballs.
Peeling moments off my skin.
Weary hearts and feet tell my tale.
Of lands baked in summer gold.
I licked the rubies there, tasted the royalty.
Scared away the ghosts that threatened to follow.
A Land of milk and honey, resided in these bones so hollow and dusty.
Washing away the arthritic rhythms of a life half led.
And though sometimes I despair.
Searching for the darkness when there seems nothing else to grasp.
Tiny voices carry, across the seas to me.
From the angels, who have already won.
Promising me a winter song, still left to sing.

Spume & solidify

Is it so hard to stay with me forever?
Or tear the hearts that fuse and tether.
Like an animal tied to a stake.
I circle around and shiver and shake.
So choose it now, and choose together.
A bursting wonder, to weld or sever.

Distance between blue & yellow

The church bells song of a new dawn.
Accompanies the veneer smear of an autumn sun.
Hazy like the mind that watches.
Trapped in leaf browns and turpentine.
A new day, to take the past away.
Taking flight like fleeting thoughts of love.
Wash over the night like dripping star light into a black hole.
Paint my dying summer the orange of the flame.
The red of the devil licking a new untouched wonder.
And wander, through the conker laced land of another day.
Captured in your memory forever.

Your universe threatens to devour

My dreams ignite like a Chagall construction.
You and I, flying over roof tops. Exploding in colour.
I lay you down and crawl into your skin.
Kissing you intimately, feeling my way.
Though your body entices and your heart entraps, it is your soul I’m after.
The bruised, damaged fraying thing that I wish to breathe life into.
It runs from me like a feather on the breeze, escaping like a Bharatanatyam movement.
Colours and light, burning my sad lonely grey into nothing.
Love on your fingertips, sticky from the centre of me.
Though this may be transitory, I give in and go under.
Falling for you again, disappearing in your wonder and the perfumed smoke of you.
Coughing up clouds of devotion, and descending like the setting sun.
