Tears of futility

Rested, like carat gold.
On a relief that sits inside our hearts.
Heavy, and stuck inside such circumstance.
Were you grounded, or too afraid to fly?
Salt may corrode this weathered mind.
And tears flow on runways down my cheeks.
In the face of such disappointment.
Locked once more in the hanger of thoughts.
And memories of loss and stained souls.
Yet the stars beckon and entice.
Calling you higher.
A calling that whispers in your veins.
So easy to take off, but harder to fly.
Impossible, when you’ve let the world clip your wings.
For the illusion of maximum highs.

Lay me down

To sleep, in a dream that never wakes.
Flying on stars and tears tonight.
Lay me down.
Into the air or the earth.
For that is where my soul seeks silence.
Covered for a hundred years, a thousand tears.
Rusted and weak.
Lay me down, to sleep.
And tell me stories of the future.
A harkening of new truths.
When this time has died into a yesterday.
I will wake, and drink the world in again.

Play dead

She lay there, with a bullet in her heart.
A world away.
A smile apart.
Reaching and tempting the heavens down.
A shuttering shame.
Like tears on a clown.
For there never was a heart at all.
No righteous tumble.
Or martyred fall.
Or even a god to share the pain.
Just empty prayers.
A messiahic shame.
For all these things played out in her head.
So she lay there silently.
Playing dead.

World is spinning (旋转失控)

Electric vertebrae, tasting the wavelengths.
Calling out on the ocean of time.
Feel it pulse, shimmer and shake in my bones.
I Saw it in the I, Ching.
Consult, consult, confer.
Disturbed state of mind.
Eating black ice cubes on a whitewashed day.
Soaked in the rain of the juniper tears.
Slipping into each pore, devouring me once more.
Oh that little friend of mine.
Dropping plastic swords and fighting to stay alive.
Now in a trance, and feeling it once more in my heartbeats.
The kick drum of immortality.
Dip this moment in bronze, and tie me to a plinth.
Whispers, all around like welcomed sound.
Dripping once more into cosmic dreams.

Holding back the waves

Heat rivals such memories.
Burning a hole through my soul.
Desert licking as my heart contorts.
Coughing up a dry dusty apology.
Limp in the midday sun.
Yet still I stand, awash with remorse and resolve.
Unable to drown in your sorrow.
Afraid to swim in your sadness.
Washed up, I watch as your gather all your hope.
Bottling shooting stars and dreams.
Plucking shadows from me, stuck on this ship.
As it rains on us.
I once tried to drain your oceanic heart.
My eyes dissolved from all the tears.
Washed away in the monsoon rains.
So you sit and wait.
Waiting for someone else to care.
At your water’s edge.
Where you still find me, threatening to jump.
Threatening to retreat.
Still hoping to save you.
Trying to hold back the waves.
