Beauty

Now it holds me, now it speaks.
Crumbling the skin away to see what’s underneath.
Cupid kill me, cupid teach.
Beyond the heavens, with the devil at my feet.
I want to heal you, I want to kiss.
To consume the time that threatens an abyss.
For in this moment your beauty lies.
Inside my heart, my hands and eyes.

Tender

Like the night. A soft velvet expanse.
Reaching through time.
Through misty eyes which open wide.
They devour me.
In a kiss that kills me, over and over.
Yet tenderly I swim down.
Passing jagged words you keep inside.
Released, only to the moon.
As you howl them into nothingness.
For tender is your way.
Sweet bruises of affection which stay,
within us forever.
As we nestle into the tender wings of love.
Slipping into time.

21:09

Staring down the dark street, he watched as the lamp-posts flickered in and out of light. Luminous reflection seeming to be running off an invisible heartbeat. Stuttering. Struggling.

He felt the same. He was tired. He’d run the last two miles and his calf muscles now ached. He’d stopped momentarily to ease the stitch that was spreading in his side. Stabbing needles from Satan’s fingertips.

Nearly there.

He saw the traffic had built up on Bower Street, he’d actually heard the car horns and the angry shouts before he saw the rows of taillights snaking away. A great stationary monster of red eyes going nowhere.

Turning left, he hurried away from the angry voices and quickly checked the time. 20.45. It had taken longer than he’d expected. The transport had imploded on itself and the city was heaving in unpreparedness that night. He felt the sweet on his forehead, the stingy sizzle of desperation and determination. A light rain now flecked onto his skin as he passed by houses. The glow of life inside reminded him what he was doing this for. The eyes of the buildings glowed with little tears from the rain, happy that people were inside. All together for the first time in years.

He sprinted, tripped and surged on. Finally getting to the door five minutes later. Too little, too late?

Better late than never he supposed, rapping frantically on the door.

The door swung open hastily. The smell of candles and coffee greeted him along with the flood of a welcoming light and a relived smile.

“Thank god.” They said to him, as he collapsed into their arms.

Tears, sweet and rain ran unabashed down his cheeks. His heart, which had threated to give up on him, pulsed to a different beat. The feeling he got whenever he saw them. The tingly skin sensation that tickled around his ears and neck. He smelled them, hugged them. Taking these new feelings deep within himself.

“I can’t believe it.” They said as the broke apart and he stepped inside.

The small house threw its arms around him and beckoned inside to safety.

“It’s pandemonium out there”. He replied, stepping further in and following them up the stairs. He glanced quickly at the front room, the warming sweet smelling candles flickered in the small room while the television screamed out silently with the volume down. The news informing no-one to things that everyone already knew.

“I’m glad you made it, I was getting worried it would be too late.” They said, settling down onto the bed. He took in the vision, the moment and tried to keep himself together.

He followed, not bothering to take off his shoes but throwing off the jacket which the light rain had clung to.

The clock on the side clicked over to 9pm.

They drew into one another, kissing tenderly. Touching each other’s hands and diving deep into one another’s eyes. Tears swelled, wiped away by fingers that trembled in the glowing room.

“I had to be here. I had to come.” He said. Knowing that they already knew.

“I didn’t expect it to be like this. I’m just glad you’re by my side.” Their voice stuttered. “I love you.” they said, and closing their eyes. Not out of shame; but to a sad realisation it would be the last time.

“I love you.” The replied. “And I will find you again.”

The held each other closer as the lights died.

21:09. The time the world ended.

Hurry this nirvana

How long had you been sleeping?
In a pool of your own happiness.
Licking the chops of the beasts that sleep.
How anointed of you, to kiss my sandalwood feet.
To stare into the eyes of god and see nothing.
To see only stars, being born again and again.
Your skin cracks and bleeds rose water.
These eyes that tighten with every word from your lips.
Coughing up daises, pulling the leash you keep the world on.
They’d love to hate you.
Sneaking just a peak at your tolerance.
Dousing everything in oil and honour.
Lighting little fires in the dark pools of their souls.
Divine is defined by your existence.
Regret is stained by your ghost.

Love regulator

Your tissue and bone, like hammer and stone.
Lay me down with the poison.
Counting heart beats, the frenzied heat of your touch.
Leads to my defensive corrosion.
Strychnine, and baths of turpentine.
Strip away my doubts, in a sweet sublime.
Your kiss. The dangerous list of a vessel.
Aching to be near you. Pumping to please you.
And sinking with your tide.

Futile impossibles

I’d cross the land, the sea, the desert.
Just to kiss your dry lips.
The holy water to wash away the hurt.
Drink me down in each sweet sip.
We’d be alone together, in the middle of nowhere.
Freezing the moment in silent static prayer.
Knowing we found someone to wipe away each hydrated tear.
The souls, for which, the skin had peeled to bare.

Back and forth

It has everything that you want.
Come inside.
Feel the walls.
Climb the tower that calls to you.
The one with the lonely light.
A single candle burning in its tallest turret.
Pillage this ancient Carthage that rises out of the sea.
Swim.
Dive in deep and lick the ocean floor.
Salty and slick.
Be the Helen of Troy to my many ships.
Aimed in your direction.
Chasing wave after wave of swell and thrust.
Taste it all, but taste it quick.
Sharpe like lemonade covered honey.
All without a sting.
As I wrapped these arms around your borders.
Burning the roofs to see the sky.
Raising my flag upon it, claiming it my own.

Sky stained satin

Your eyes picked out the moon that night.
Reflecting lunar memories and utopia.
I remember the rain on your skin.
And those words you had held deep within.
The goodbye corroded my heart and the lava love.
Those volcanic changes of emotions that shook my soul.
Whispering words you hoped I never heard.
And you shot us down like a low flying bird.
Flicking away the dew drops that had stained your eyelashes.
Flicking away both me and pieces of the past.
You pulled that heart out of me.
Leaving me to breathe underwater in a black lonely sea.
The lights shift. Cracking to burn as you departed.
Lighting your way into a new design.
Somewhere in my memory, that rain never ends.
The moon will shine off your skin like Saturns rings.
And the twilight will stick to my eyelids like sleep.
Somewhere before that I will always be kissing you.
Where the sky is stained purple, and the rain pulls down.
And love still courses through my heart.

O-A+

You don’t need this religion. Your face screams a new fear.
With Maybelline eyes that tear.
A cut so deep that it stings my own heart.
As this city crumbles; the cathedrals fall apart.
Let the dust settle on the sweat that is sticky.
Close your eyes, and think of me. Let me take you over.
As memories begin to thin your blood.
And my broken lips kiss you sweetly.

Outshine them all

An absent minded pioneer.
Forgetting the parts of me we have discovered.
Paid blue. Flashing to neon red.
Fusing the split and feigning licks.
Time. Tongue. Hung.
All under control.
Lost, spat out at into the night.
Caught in the taming lion love that roars like a first.
Caught in the jaws of a beast that slips the ropes.
Still remembering and engineering the future.
Cupped into your hand with the voice you captured.
What is right, what is right for us?
A prayer in the dark as the kisses cover you.
Whispers of the voice now broken free.
Dancing on your cheek with the grace of the devil.
That gapping void yawning out ‘Disappear here’.
Going.
Goi.
G….
Gone.

Seen on television

What position did you wear, glaring out with weekend eyes?
A real woman. Wearing a smile and turpentine.
They cannot buy the things you have, make an offer.
Sipping souls with a slice of lime.
Slip your tongue into another lie.
A strange life where the fake are sanctified.
He’s a real man, he’s the real thing.
He’ll do anything.
Holding out for all but a mother.
Splinter eyes and matchbook teeth.
Both now adrift on that world stage of comedy.
Tracing figure eights and commodity.
She’s a real woman. Saying a prayer into small boxes.
A real man. Attuned to product placement.
Grease those wheels in the mind.
Spin into a Monday morning, hung like a broken jukebox.
Looking now for new interruptions.
Chasing new enemies.

Shift kiss

Take your hand off your eyes. See the sky above ignite.
Do not fall down into that soily grave alone.
Holding the hands of no-one.
Let the universe pulse in your veins.
Feel a fresh kiss of heroin as you save a life.
Save your own.
Communicate and reverberate this feeling.
Coursing and freewheeling.
Tumbling off of each kiss you give.
Each smile that slips into the dark.
To light the shadows like roman candles.
Let your galaxy slide into view.
Forget the hue of distrust and knee jerk distaste.
Taste me now. Let me in.
Strip way that cotton shell you’re living in.
Drink. Dive. Repeat.
Do not even give it a name.
Feel the ebb and flow as the old world shatters.
Sink into a sunbeam, radiating a love for everyone.
A neighbour, a lover.
A god in another skin.
Look within.

Gossamer touches

Feeling the space, breathing upon a windowpane of pleasure.
Your lips, only an exhale away.
Trapped in a falling dream on golden gossamer thread.
Sticking to me like a forgotten memory.
Lost in the centre of your eyes.
Rush warm sensation.
Mouths intertwined.
A lover’s reflection.
Strung up like dew in the morning light.
Melt me into sunshine with a touch of your skin.
Breathe from within.
Slipping out of my soul while you sleep.
To kneel before the creator, and thank him for your existence.
Here on earth. Here next to me.
Underneath my skin and painting pictures in my mind.
A masterpiece, dripped on a canvas threaded with our DNA.
The brush strokes of the age. The hand of God, guiding our bones.
As we tread through our museum of moments.
We, the only tourist in our time; seeking grand adventure.
Purposely getting lost.

I dare not touch, a hair upon your head.
Your skin that falls like rain.
Into my arms I dream you would tumble.
Kissing your lips that welcome me like a traveller’s light.
Burning out of the darkness.
Threatening sweet cherry deliverance.
I would peal back your skull and dive into that sea of thoughts.
Swimming with you, hand in hand on a celestial ocean of knowing.
To know you. To touch you.
To take the pain you feel, and burn it within my own bones.
I place this pedestal only for you.
Keeping you safe and aloft, closer to the heavens.
Where you belong.

You

There’s no more sadness behind these eyes.
You licked them away in the night.
Banishing the shadows of things.
Hunted them down like game.
You love me all the same.
Your lips encapsulate and intensify.
Securing me like an air lock.
Breathing life into my world.
And now I see inside.
A million stars like a sea of diamonds.
Traveling their way to your titanium heart.
One I’m welcomed into on my boat made of truths.
Thick like reeds, and just as sturdy.
You.
You are the one. The one I call home.
A mirror image of all I wish to be.
Strung out and up within me.
And we kiss, and you send me under.
Down, covered in mother of pearl and oceanic sound.
To lie with you on the star strewn ocean floor of eternity.
You.
Forever you.

Cellophane

This picture of you, drawn out of such a moment in time.
Chiselled out of the clouds and into my eye.
I reached inside of myself, only to find you there.
Setting up a place for us.
A home, deep within the fathoms of my uncertainty.
Placing sticks and rugs over deep old wounds.
Silently you swell.
Sweetly you settle.
Patching holes and broken pieces of the past.
I radiate out a pulse, searching for something to slip away into.
But I’m up strung up in you willowed reaches.
Your horizoned heart.
Your memory beaches.
Ultimately I relinquish and peel off my skin.
The fuselage of fear splinters away and we brace for impact.
Washing ashore of this Elysium dream.

Scorch

That first emotion that we both betrayed.
Tasting dangling carrots.
Asking for god to let us both in.
Kick this cart and tear the hide.
Let me see you swimming in the night.
In the dark, all cats look grey; and you take me there.
Push me under, watch me sway.
This magnitude, did you invoke or ask for?
Shake my resolve once more to this core.
Dipping me quick, with a turpentine kiss.
Lighting you match, and set my soul on fire.
You know where it burns.
Sizzling in my oceanic heart. Like sulphur from the breath of Lucifer.
Yet you roll me over. Again and again.
Till my teeth ache and drop to the floor.
And my mind blisters.
And the lust festers.
And the earth did open and swallow me whole.

Spank

Roll me around your tongue like a toffee.
Kiss me quick.
Suck me like coffee.
Nothing out there looks the same.
All you need do is call my name.
Put me on. Twist the cap.
Make me shiver, take it back.
Black out the sky, turn me upside down.
Pull me in, then make me frown.
One little shake before you me kill me.
All the stars you send to thrill me.
Strip it off, lay it out.
Grab a hold and make me shout.

Corrosive

Great opportunity.
Swim to me like you’re in an aquarium.
Smell this sweet delirium.
Candy tongued and sarcastic.
This mountain flower piackable state.
Didn’t you notice?
My store front vulnerability.
Flashing neon signs: Kiss me.
Corrosively dipped and iron willed.
All in disguise.
Like cyanide sweet nothings on your pillow; talk,
and swallow me down.
Wash away those ugly thoughts and humiliation.
Rain. Rain. Rain. (Back again?)
This smells like tomorrow.

Beauty trapped

Bind my heart, break my bones.
Sneak in when the lights are off.
When my guard is down.
Snap my soul and slip inside.
Overwhelm and consume me like heroin.
The addict in me pulls you near.
Breathe me in, suck me out.
Spun up in your mind like a crystal chandelier.
Precarious precious beauty.
Your hands on my innocence.
Pulling me down, and knocking me over.
Teaching me how to fly.

Kisses that scar

A kiss that reaches in.
Sees who you are.
Behind bone and flesh. So pure and illuminating.
Twisting this knot in my stomach.
You breathe new life into me, asphyxiating this sorrow in my soul.
Paint the walls of my mouth with your honey, let your tongue find a place to rest.
Warm within.
Pull the teeth from my skull, and shower them down like diamonds.
Rubbing my soul to dust.
Licking the roots with vinegar and manna from God.
Bathing my bones in milk and sugar.
Sprinkled on my heart. Touching my ever after.
Your words surround me, dancing in my mind.
They pirouette on my cells, causing me to shudder.
Your Pierrot the clown, causing me to laugh ruby tears.
Coughing out a black marble, that rolls away from me covered in tar.
Fill me up again with your preciousness.
Emerald hopes stolen from that magical city.
Taping my crystal cage.
Threatening to fracture. Threatening such joyful freedom.
