I cannot go outside.
They will not see.
I lock the doors and turn the world down.
Set the moon to wake me, so I can dance in the dark.
They cannot know, they should not look.
I came to disappear discretely.
The void is my own.
Yet a consequence is not from a lack.
The love and respect weighs me down more than you will ever know.
But I have to go, I have to depart.
Sailing out on silent ships that leave you all in fog.
Not a death, not a dim.
A recapturing, of self.
Until I’m stronger to hold back the waves of the world.
Stronger, to survive the sun.

This is so powerful and detailed and I felt I understood exactly what you mean! Sometimes we need to hide from other to protect ourselves, to work on ourselves, to even do what we love in private till we are whole again and can interaction fully with the world!

Exactly, a self repair and heal to brave the world once more. The problem is, the balm of retreat becomes the shell to hide beneath forever…at least in my experience.
I’m glad you connected with this, and thank you for reading!

Yea it can be the shell to hide forever because it turns out that, that’s were we are our most self or comfortable, it can also be our happiest place which is fine as all as you slowly start to bring the world back in but by but because we are sociable creature! From my experience of being hidden once I started to heal and reconnect I saw the world in a different light! But don’t go back to negative people start fresh!

That is true, it can be a healthy process if managed with a self-care mindset. And to cut of those negative people magnets!
